Trigger creep

Are there any causes of creep that are not in the trigger? Ive got a timney on a rem 788 and am having trouble getting it where Id like it to be creep wise ie none. I adjusted until sear fell then backed it off 1/4 turn still got noticeable creep in it. Not entirely sure how to safely proceed Am waiting to hear back from Timney, thought you guys might have some good info also

Not with that set up . What was it like with the factory trig ?
Assuming you have it out of the stock to eliminate the possibility of the trig shoe hitting the guard or wood .

Creep is the internal engagement of a trigger translated to finger piece movement according to the ratio(s) inherent in the design. Accordingly, it is unlikely that a simple trigger will be able to be adjusted so that it literally no creep. The best that be done is to polish surfaces so that the creep is smooth and predictable. With many designs, if they are adjusted so as to have almost no creep, they will not stand rough handling of the bolt or rifle.

I put one of these triggers on a 581 Remington action. I had a similar experience. I had the weight of pull adjusted as light as possible since this rifle was for the smallbore class. Much of the perceptible creep seems to be less noticeable when I increased the weight of pull. It wasn't as light as I wanted, but with this trigger it was probably the best I would do.
