Trickling to a pan on A&DFX120i

I am going to order the A&DFX120i but I don't have a tablet or phone to operate the Auto powder feed and trickler. What I would like to know is if I put a funnel with a long drop tube thru the hole of the cover and trickle thru that will it work? I would raise the trickler above the funnel with a frame made of wood. The trickler would not be touching the scale. Will this work? I am 63 and I don't have any of these electronic devices, so I try to adapt.

Can't see any reason that wouldn't work. You'll still need to remove the front cover to get your pan in and out and you'll need to make sure powder kernels don't bounce out.

I'm old school I guess, but I still set one or two Chargemasters to load .1 of a grain light and trickle each charge on the FX120i to target wt.

I use this method as I use a lot of large extruded powder and got tired of binding the autotrickler.

Was thinking of doing something similar myself so curious to see how this goes. Slight sidetrack but typically what are and who has the best prices on the FX120i?

Thanks.

How is it even possible for you to operate a firearm without a tablet or phone? According to some people I know that are addicted to such devices, that shouldn't be physically possible. ;)

FWIW - I use the yellow plastic Lee Scoops by themselves with a high-end Mettler Toledo analytical balance. No trickler, no auto-throw, no phone, no tablet, no nothing...LOL. The Lee scoops are the best $11.99 I've ever spent on a piece of reloading gear. However, I am given to understand that in this day and age of tablets and i-phones, french-tricklers and auto-throw powder gizmos, electronic targets and scopes that aim for you, that a brand new set of Lee Powder scoops will now set you back closer to $20.

Yeah, get a cheap used iphone/tablet/android tablet. It's probably 50 extra bucks on top of a 1000 dollar scale setup.

My process is to just tare the case, then use the thrower to fill it. Set it back on the scale and add/subtract a few kernels as necessary to get within your tolerance. With a Jones measure, I'm usually spot on 8 rounds out of 10, and within about .04 -- or about 5-8 kernels on the rest. Quick. Easy.

I absolutely love the scale -- I've owned about every powder scale available, and the FX is just rock solid!

Data Weighing system. A&DFX120i scale, $425.00 in stock today. Sorry, they have the Scale, but DWS is no longer a seller of the Auto Throw and the Auto Trickler. BUT, they still sell the scales and any Area419 mods you may need.
