TRG parts dealer?

I would like to use a Sako TRG bipod on one of my custom stocks. I have the bipod. I need the "receiver" part that's in the forend of the TRG stock Any one have a lead on a parts guy. Figured I'd try Eurooptic tomorrow if no other options pop up or make something myself. Thanks, Josh

The receiver part is a integral part of the chassis. Check with KRG chassis, don't know if he makes or sells that part separately but would not be hard to fabricate.

Thanks guys. Another hour searching and I can't find it as a separate part from the entire forend. Looks like I'll have to make something. Josh

Yes, It's fairly simple but I'm limited to wood working tools. I've done some parts out of aluminum. It's just a bit of a pain to make them "right".

If you draw a picture with accurate dimensions on it & post a picture here someone should be able to give you a price on making you one.

Yup. I sent a pm to Andrew and he's waiting for my sketch. Heck of a nice guy. Just had a baby, too. He needs "diaper money":p

Not familiar with the TRG setup - however, if a T-slot rail would work as a starting point, at least, here's a source - http://www.championshooters.com/ind..._id=486&virtuemart_category_id=115&Itemid=111

Hope this helps.

Thanks Mike. The TRG bipod is a unique design. A little different than the typical "under mount" designs. It mounts into the front of the forend, right at the bottom of the barrel channel. It has a U shaped frame and the pivot point for the legs is above the barrel, giving it a very stable stance. The only problem with them is the price. Usually between $450 and $550. I bought one used and still have it, tho I rarely shoot the boomer I bought it for. I think it will work on my custom stocks nicely, if I can get the receiver made.

Okay, thanks Josh, for your explanation. Sounds like the TRG setup is way more involved than what I had envisioned. Hopefully, you'll be able to find someone who can set you up with a mounting solution for that bipod.
