Tract Toric 4-30x56 FFP - how does it compare?

Hi Guys,

I was wondering what your real world experience of the Tract Toric 4-30x56 FFP was?

What sort of scopes would you say it is similar to in terms of optical quality?

Many thanks,

Cam.

Watching this with interest since I just got the Toric here today. I'm expecting it to match my Trijicon Accupower, or I'll be very disappointed...

I don’t have the 30 mm tube version but I have (2) of the 1” 3-15x50 mm.
The glass is excellent, at least as good as my NightForce SHVs that I have, probably a little better.
Adjustments and tracking so far is also spot on.
Gary

Have had mine for awhile now. Everything about it is great except the eyebox. Everything has to just so to get the really good FOV. Glass is very clear, mirage is what it is on any given day. Turrets and tracking are spot on, as good as scopes for a lot more $.

If I was in the market for another scope, I would definitely consider Tract.

Jon & Jon at Tract are both good people. My Tract Toric ELR is a 34mm tube. I got the MRAD version.
Glass is clear and tracking is spot on from 100 out to 1800 yards on my 338LM.
Not quite the elevation adjustment as my ATACR but enough for a mile shot with a 20MOA base on the rifle.
Oh, yes, it has held up to the recoil of the 338LM well.

The Tract is comparable to scopes that cost 2 to 3 times the price. The glass is world class and the adjustments are spot on. The reason you get the top tier optics for less is because you are buying direct with no middleman to take a chunk of the profit. Jon told me if they would have to go to distributers, they would have to add 40% or more to their price. You will not be disappointed in a Tract Toric scope, binos or spotters. I sold my Swaro's to purchase more of the bino's because the glass is that good.

I just got ahold of a tract toric 4.5-30 so I’m excited to get some time behind it. I was torn between it and a nx8 4-32.

Are you saying it’s the equivalent of the Zero Compromise or Tangent Theta? Not arguing, just curious.

While it's a very good scope, it's just another variant of the same scope body as the Athlon Cronus BTR, Delta Stryker HD, Leica PRS, and several other brands that are produced by LOW in Japan.
The optical quality is what you should expect in a $1500 - $2000 scope, no more - no less. They don't really come close to comparing to $3000+ scopes, but they do everything pretty dang good for less money.

Exactly!
Subtle differences like most of the scopes from LOW determined by company label, but well done for the price. Also, when you call Tract it's generally an owner that answers the phone...

Just to respond, I have never looked through Zero or the Tangent, but have used the Swaro's and Schmidts. For the money, I would not pass up the Tract. It is not worth the $1500 to $2000 difference to my eyes. Not saying in any way that the Zero's or Tangents are not worth the selling prices. Just for a working class guy, the Tract will do the same for less money. Schott Glass is world class and I do know that there are different levels of Schott Glass, but they are used in the 3 to 4 K scopes also.

I have a Athlon Cronus and a Delta Stryker. For the money, they are fantastic optics, and will work just fine for anyone that wants a quality scope. I also have two S&B PMII's and an IOR Recon. The Recon has the best optical quality of them all, to my eyes. The S&B's are the best all around quality, and I bought both of mine used for a few $$$ more than what I paid for the LOW produced scopes new.
The Tangent and ZCO scopes are the best of the best that I've looked thru, but I probably will never own one because of the expense - even used they are too costly for me.

We have so many great scope choices today, it all comes down to what features you want, and how much you're willing to spend on them.

I agree with everything you said. We’ll do e.

All the LOW scopes like the tract, bushy, athlon Cronus, trijicon and delta are nice scopes that won’t hold any one back.
