In 50 bmg caliber does firing Tracer ammo harm chamber or bore??

Clean after shooting and you will be fine. I never noticed any problems with all the ones I shot back when I had a 50.

I never saw any ill effects with 30 cal. tracers. Like has been said just clean well after use. I will add, be careful with tracers because you can set the world on fire. Don't ask me how I know. LOL

Magnesium burns at 4000 degrees F. But its mixed with other chemicals to slow burning.
Powder burn temperature is in the same range. So i quess there will be no additional barrel wear from heat?
Military chrome rifle bore are less effected by heat.

The metals/salts in the compound may be abrasive?

Been there, done that. Tub of mixed surplus .45 ACP rounds and a couple of clueless shooters (I was one of them). Massive corn cob pile as a backstop. Burned for days.
