Torque settings

Does anyone have info on the stock screw torque settings for Savage Mark II and 93 r17 rimfire rifles. Thanks Jeff

I would guess that it is somewhere between 15 and 35 inch pounds. What I would do is start at 15 and shoot a couple of groups. Increase it 5 inch pounds till it really starts to group or you’ve reached 35 inch pounds.
Thanks Doc, I really appreciate the Info. Jeff

I started at 17 F/R and moved up on my CZ 453V with pretty remarkable results with changes, shooting multiple 5 shot 50 yard groups with good ammo. I had the best results with low torque which tells me I probably need to bed it, but until then I’ve used the low torque settings with good results.

Like a number of things I work on, a highly torqued bolt is not always my friend. YMMV.

Thanks Doc, I really appreciate the Info. Jeff
you are most welcome to, and when you do that torque setting test, turn only one bolt at a time and shoot a group or two, so say start at 15, after you shoot, set the front one to 20 and then shoot again, then set the rear one to 20 and so forth.

Anschutz used to ascribe to the use 45 inch pounds on the action screws. They have since stated not to go more than 35 inch pounds. My winning Annie is not bedded in the stock, it is just sitting in it with the action screws set at 35 inch pounds on each screw.

Thanks again Doc. Will go to range next week and give it a go. I think the monsoon is over here in Delaware and I`m itching to get out. Happy shooting. Jeff

If anyone has any additional info that can be added, or is in error, let me know and I'll update and repost document.
