Top Shooters Reloading Process in Diary Format? FOUND

Killick

I recently saw an article on social media that was a collection of some top F-Class shooters reloading process in a kind of diary format. Each shooter listed their process on one page. I don't remember which site it was on. Did anyone else see this and where do you remember seeing it?

I think ; doing a little research on this site will get you all the same information . Most of the Top Guys have virtually identical process in their reloading , with but slight variations . Many of the very good Masters , it's the same thing . The key is to do it the same way , every time , with the same process , and then adjust the process if needed . Still have to have a tight nut behind the trigger , with a lot of practice . Loading is important , but shooting is what makes Champions .

Consistency is key. I swear mandrels are not needed and win often, but I shoot with some great shooters that think mandrels are a must. I think the general processes would be very similar with the major differences being annealing, cleaning brass, mandrel use, and primer seating method.

What do you think the reaction on the site would be? If a top shooter said he didn’t worry about lot #’s, didn’t anneal and just clean barrel ever so often!
Wonder how many would start doing that. I’m sure they would be some interesting comments to say the least

It would depend on the discipline but I doubt many 1000 yard benchrest guys would claim that.

Doing something consistently, but wrong, does not pay.
Correct Charlie, I should clarified that above in my statement. To me it was implied but perhaps not that obvious to some. My baseball coach used to say “practice doesn’t make perfect, practice only makes permanent”
Make sure you practice and reload “correctly”

Martin, was that on social media or on a blog?

I poked around and only find the PRS stuff on the "what the pros use" and the interviews of the top folks sections on The Precision Rifle Blog but I have not seen what you are asking since I avoid social media when possible.

Most social media wouldn't lend itself to a lengthy presentation. I doubt you would cross up between F-Class and PRS, but I have otherwise not see what you are asking about. Any clue as to which social media you were looking at?

I looked and didn’t find anything either

A successful reloading process is required. Paying attention to neck tension, donuts, annealing, and consistent bullet sorting are certainly necessary. That said, if a known good shooter starting winning with a turd fixed to the end of his bbl. next match, a whole lot of shooters would have turds tied to the end of their bbls. There is a herd mentality out there.
“Perfect practice makes perfect”. Today, there is a fair share who are looking for the EASY button to success. It does not matter what ur shooting discipline is, there is a lot of hard work that goes into testing, not just ur ammo, but a whole host of different items. The Champions are always trying different things. They are not satisfied with status quo!
Know that it is easy to get to 80 percent of the goal. It’s the last 20 percent that is a bitch. For the Champions, it’s the last 5 percent that keeps them awake trying to figure out how to achieve that consistent level of performance.
The best road to success is finding a mentor or get int with a group of top shooters. U can only go so far reading threads/articles and watching videos. U need someone who can help u to the next level, explain the ideas/ words/ terms u have heard but do not fully understand. A mentor/ top group will assist u in elevating ur performance at matches.

Just to say it out loud to keep the thread clear....

I can assure everyone that Martin, aka Killick, aka the OP, isn't asking because of a lack of experience or wanting a shortcut.

He is an experienced, accomplished, hard working Mid Range & Long Range competitor, and match director. He is just too modest to say that here so I did. He isn't asking because he is a rookie. Carry on.

It sounded like the OP was looking for a list/process for precision reloading.
Sorry for my lengthy post that perhaps was not what he was looking for.
My bad.
