Tool to straighten Amax tips

Hi all
I was wondering if someone who is pretty smart has come up with a tool that re straightens the 80 Grn Amax projectile tip.
I have from time to time made a mistake and not watched what I was doing when I am seating the projectile in the case and I have a bent or curved red tip.
I was looking at something like a modified pencil sharpener, but I think that would be a bit crude..
I would like to hear some suggestions if you could come up with a simple idea ;D
Many Thanks.....Richard

Lightly chuck the bullet in a hand drill wrapped if you wish in paper use a couple of the wifes emery boards and sand/file to point. Or leave as is for foulers.

I dont think you want to remove any material, just get it back in line, where its supposed to be. The drill trick may work, but a small drill press, if you have access to one, would be better and run on slow speed. And only use a smooth flat surface to push it back straight.
Mike.

Hi Again
:D
I have been thinking about this and what has come to mind is something that could be made like a bullet pointer that would re shape it back into its original state.
probably in a press

I use what most people call a trigger.just use them for plinking.by the time you might find something to get them back in the shape they are suppose to be you could have already put them down the barrel.but hey this is what I would do.

Whose dies are you using?? I had the same problem in my 22-250 with the 75 grain A-Max. I contacted Forster and they sent me a new stem for my seating die(at no charge). And the problem was alleviated!! Tom.

HI Tom
I think its not the seating die its just me being carless and having a slack attack from time to time.Having said that I must give Lyman a huge wrap as when I got my seating die it was chewing up the plastic tips so I contacted them and without any hesitation they posted a new stem to me from USA here to Australia...no charge
Cheers Rich
