Took the ladies to the dance last week

Been picking up some good info on this site. Found it while searching for a set of 22 br dies that a member had in the classifieds here. I don’t have a lot to offer in the way of info but thought I would post a couple pictures of my Praire Dog guns to at least contribute!! Got a chance to stretch their legs last week. Dark green stock is a Remington 700 action in 20 practical. The lighter green and stainless barrel is a Remington 700 action , proof research barrel in 20 br. The 20 br has been nicknamed the disintegrator!! 2B75E2D5-96F1-4E3C-967B-5AB4AFAA35CE.jpeg12BBF68F-D6E3-4D17-9FCD-5F1C3FDD695E.jpeg

How about some more info... shot distance, accuracy, killing power between the two etc.:)
Both guns will shoot under half inch groups. As both are loaded hot I try not to overdue it when I am out shooting. The practical is running 3800 fps and the br is averaging 4200 fps with 39 grain sbk’s. Anything under 250 yards I use a vanguard in223 that is suppressed, shooting a 50 grain v max. Farthest shot for the br was 424 yards. I held just over his head as he was standing and hit him mid body . The practical I was shooting at a 10 inch steel plate we have set up at 550 at the ranch. Once I got the wind figured out it was pretty consistent to ring it. The low recoil and speed make these .20’s so
Much fun to shoot! If people don’t mind a little gore I have some video clips I could post, I just don’t want to offend anyone.

Excellent video. I know how hard it is to get good video like that a those ranges. Impressed with the 20br. Remarkable what 39grs at 4000+fps will do.

So here is a video I made 6 years ago of some pdog carnage. It took a long time and was a little expensive to learn how to capture these images. Most shots are 250-400 yards with a 6x45, 223, and 17 hornet. I put it to some music, if you don't like it, mute it. If you click on it, you agree that you are going to see images of prairie dogs being shot.

A very nice Cooper in TAC 20 fell out the sky last year and l caught it. l hope to make a few dogs ''dance'' later this year. l will have to be satisfied with 32 or 35 gr 20 cals.

I took my 22br and 222 out to dance last Saturday. Had very little wind for a couple hours and shot 3 dogs over 500 yards with the long at 605 yards. That one took 4 shots with the 22br to hit while a 535 yard took 2 shots and a 545 yard was a single shot. Really had the dialed in and then the wind came up and was still able to shoot many dogs out to 500 yards, but a variable 8-15mph wind just made for misses past 500 yards. Excited to see how my 6mmbr with a 70 SBK will do on them. Also just resurrected my 260 rem with some new 105 SBK to try. About have my load dialed in. Here is another video from 6 years ago with my teenage daughter as the shooter, not the best camera work, but amazing what a 95 vmax in a 260 rem will do.

I worked up a load for the 20 practical AA2460 and 32 grain nosler Ballistic Tips. Clocked them right at 4000 fps.
