Too light

I want to try a light weight varmint bullet in my 1/8 6br. Any suggestions. I have heard about pushing light bullets too fast in a fast twist barrel.

Hornady 87gr V max works well in my 8 twist dasher 3420 fps. Good Shooting Larry

I am just getting a savage 10 twist 6br up and going. what is you 87 gr vmax load? I'm only running them at 3250, with a 28" barrel 31 gr Varget

WLS -
Howdy !

Sierra 6mm 85 HPBT's are hyper-consistent for wt, and give old school reliability & explosive expansion. They have grouped well ( for me ).

I like almost anyones 75 grain hollow points and they do a job.

I have some 70 nosler ballistic tip & 75 vmaxs. I'm going to try one of those any suggestions on powder. Thanks for post

I shot a lot of 58 V-Max molys in a 6mm Rem at ~4020 fps. It was a 9" twist barrel, shot accurately and the terminal effect on crows was amazing. Never lost a bullet, either.

light bullets in a fast twist DO come apart. 68 cheeks in my 8 twist 6 brx...1 in 3 come apart if pushed fast. 60 and 64 bergers and 63 cheeks have a hard time staying together in a 9 twist 22 brx. the above use j-4 jackets that are meant to fragment on impact but can be rpm'ed apart. i think sierra and hornady use another type of jacket and can take the spin.
