Today's lessons learned from the fng handloader.

I have a box of lapua that I plan to use but I'm going to turn a lot of brass before I touch one of those ;)

If you're shooting a factory SAAMI spec chamber why bother to neck turn Lapua brass. You'll want to check a few for uniform neck thickness to make sure it's a good lot number, if it is give it a light chamfer, size, load and shoot.

I dont turn, in the classic use of the term. I currently look to accomplish a 80 or better percentage cleanup. In that case it is not removing very much material.

a good set of mics, calipers, pin gauges, and practice how to use them, next know your chamber dimensions before playing with dies. you are just guessing if you do not.
