Today Is The Longest Day

June 6th, 69 years ago today many a men from several Nations sacrificed themselves for the sake of freedom! Let's not forget them and the strife and turmoil that they went through. The rigors of battle to fight back tyranny and oppression. I do not know how many Vets that still remain on this earth, but to those that are still alive I thank them and to those whom are gone, may they rest in peace . I will not forget!

I SECOND THAT........................THANK GOD FOR TROOPS............WELL DONE

My grandfather was one of those guys. He was part of Patton's relief column that broke through to Bastogne, and later directed counterbattery fire against German arty positions across the Rhine at Remagen. Finished the war somewhere outside Berlin. Impressive guy, and had some fascinating stories to tell.

Thanks for posting that link Sir! I've been e-mailing it to my friends for 2 days now. One of President Reagan's best speeches. God Bless all of those men.

Yep, my grandpa was there too. He said they ran out of food and killed a horse and ate it.

Read an article this morning that only 2 dozen vets showed up for the ceremony. They are getting up there in years..
