To nut or not to nut

Nut gun won again. at 600yd gong match. 10 plus shot out 15 hit the 3/4 nut that holds the gong on. the other 5 were 1/2 either side of the nut. The target looking through the scope didn't show 1'' of vertical and 2'' horizontal. Nuttin better then that . ;D ;D ;D ;D Larry

Ahh yes, I remember those groups. Seems they only happen on a gong. Lets see that sub 2" 600 yard 15 shot group on paper. I thought Manatee didnt have conditions good enough to shoot like that? Thats world record level shooting. NBRSA 10 shot 600 yard record is 1.4" you put 10 in 3/4"!!! ::)

Alex-
Mantanee Gong match results reported by Larry always seem to surpass all other discipline's records to group sizes and scores, even though it is a "contact count" event only. More so since you moved away.

The nut gun hold the gun record on paper at both 300and 600 The 600 is 1.059 and the second target was 1.652 add the total together and divide by 2 =1.342 and that was measured by Steve. The 300 is .604 Also the both were savage. I had no idea the total was smaller then the NBRSA record. If I had of ben able to shoot just one target without moving below to another target no telling how good it would of ben.. Larry

Larry -

This Mantanee 300 Dirtybird record you refer to so often, how many times has that event been held there and how many people in total have participated?
Hope you realize that there are several 300yd national records that measure 3 to 4 times smaller then your .604" club record.

Measuring your 600 Gong dispersion's with your scope from 600yds away, could very easily be optically corrupted could it not?
Especially if there is mirage floating the plate, like you claim Mantanee always has. A poor way of measuring and reporting results in my opinion.

Good shooting/count all the same, and glad you had fun !.!.!

Why wouldn't any one realize that? I gave a honest description of what I seen Nothin else.
Yes a nut gun won. Second was a nutless . The shooting conditions was some of the best we get to shoot in.
They weren't as good as when Alex set the record. The winds were switching at 5 to 9 MPR and easily read
The mirage only moved to the right and would return the same spot depending on the wind.
As far as the dirty bird shoot we has 22 shooters but not all in the same class. We changed our shoot dates 3 different times. in 3 months. After that the club had found they had major issues. Till they have be taken care of I will not peruse the shoot again. I feel with the help of others all working together. We would of had over 50 shooter by now. We have a 3 gun match that was started 3 or so years ago they had over 80 shooters. They have plans for one this winter they are expecting 500 plus shooters. But that will only happen if the club solves their problems.
Sorry for hi jacking :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ Larry
How can you have fun with only 10 shooters That's like kissing your sister.
