to light for 1x7 twist in 223

I read somewhere that a fast twist can tear apart light bullets. I also read that the jackets on newer bullets should hold them together. Can anyone tell me what's the lightest that I should shoot out of my 1x7 savage. Thanks. Nick

I don't have alot of rounds down the tube yet. (100-125) About a 1/3 of these being 52 gr SMK with 25 gr of Varget. No problem yet. Mine is a Savage F/TR .223 1-7 twist. I'm trying to find the right combination 80 Berger with R-15. Any luck with these?

I have shot many 52 gr. bullets with a fairly light load of RL10X & Rem. 7 1/2 primers. This load was very accurate out to the limit of our gun club which is 400 yards.

Nice. That's about as lite as I would go. 52-69 are much easier to find locally and I have a bunch from mg last 223. For me 24.2 grains of varget and rl15 works great.
