To "K"or not?

In all the years I've shot rats with the Hornet, I've learned one thing: Virtually EVERY Hornet shot better after being "K'd". Every one.

Brass lasts much, much longer without stretching, velocity is always improved and consistency on target is also visibly improved. This includes Sako M78, Browning Low Wall, two Anschutz, and a Kimber M82. To me at least, it's truly a no-brainer. One look at a 22 K-Hornet case alongside a standard Hornet, and you just have to ask yourself which one should have been the factory version in the first place.

The K-Hornet is a true winner in every regard. IMHO :)

For all of the reasons stated above by Rick, turn it into a K-Hornet and don't look back.

I had a standard Hornet and it shot like a turd. I had the barrel reamed into a K-Hornet and here's how it now shoots at 100 yards.

i had one hornet. POS. I got two K's. Both good. Limited stats, but as far as I am concerned....K

Would anyone be willing to send me a k hornet case for a brass collection? Ill pay. Sent a piece off today in a padded envelope it was 2.49. Id appreciate anyone that could help me out.

I have a Savage 23D right now but my new Ruger 77 should be here tomorrow. I think it will get the K treatment real soon.

From a value viewpoint, there are obviously certain hornet rifles I would not consider "K"-ing. Two that come to mind are a pre-64 M70 and a L-46 Sako. I agree that the K-hornet gets the nod when it comes to accuracy and performance. That said, shoot the hornet first before deciding to "K" it. There are exceptions. I have a pre-64 M70 hornet that is a 1/2 moa rifle at 100 yards.

Some have said it really hurts the value when you K the Hornet. Personally, if it makes it a more accurate rifle, how does it hurt the value? But I also understand that there are some rifles that should be left in their original condition like the M70's. I doubt the Savage 23D will get K-ed and will be left as original as I can keep it. Although it has already been drilled for a scope mount.

I bought a box of 33 grain Speer HP's today. Plan on trying them in the Ruger and the Savage.Any powder suggestions?
