I am thinking of a new build, I have a Howa 1500 in 6mm BR with Krieger barrel 13.5 twist and home made stock with 2.5" forend.

now I want to go custom all the way and build a 6mm BR with benchrest stock.

I was wondering if the Titanium receivers from x-treme shooting are worth the $1350 or should I go with Viper SS action ? maybe something else ?

I was thinking about another Krieger HV barrel in 13.5 twist, I will be using the new gun for 100-300m so lighter bullets will be my choice, the Berger 68gr is my favorite at the moment.

then I need a good stock and scope.. I do have my eyes on a March 8-80x but it's a bit over budget at the moment, hopefully that will change...

which receiver, barrel, stock and scope should I go with ?

for gun components I do not look at the price, only quality.. if the scope has to wait it will but I will not compromise in gun parts

I have a Ti rem action on my hunting rifle. It was very true from the factory. The advantage of Ti is light weight that is why i used it.

Check out the DEFIANCE actions, they offer a drop port that looks REALLY slick.....

I don`t own one yet,but it`s on my "short list" of things to aquire.

TI actions serve one end, light weight. No reason in the world you would need one for the build you are suggesting...

You might want to check with Stiller about availability. When I bought my Viper SS in May 2010, it was the last one and I was told it would be at least two years until they ran more. A lot may have changed since then but it is still worth checking. [br]
If you are building a 13.5 pound gun, take a look at Stiller's Viper (aluminum) or a Kelbly Panda. They are great actions and help with the weight budget. Of course, you could never go wrong with a Borden Rimrock, either.

Titanium is only worth the price when weight is an issue. The kind of gun you are talking about I like more weight than less, up to a certain point of course.

If I was building a super light back country hunting rifle I would consider titanium. Maybe if I was building a benchrest rifle and wanted to use a honking big scope and try to make weight, I would also consider titanium. Or if I had a butt load of money and I just wanted to be cool and show it off. Otherwise I would stick with a steel or aluminum/steel action.
