Tip of the cap to Berger bullets!

I just got back from 10 days in the Western Cape of South Africa. I brought my suppressed .284 Shehane rifle on this trip, using the 175 grain Berger Elite Hunter bullet behind 56.2 grains of H4831SC in Lapua brass. Accuracy is .5MOA out to 600 yards off a bipod with this rifle. Over the course of 8 days, my significant other (never shot before, but decided to hunt on this trip) shot impala, springbok, and 2 kudu at distances from 260 yards to 375 yards on the last kudu. All shots dropped the animal in their tracks. A 77 year old buddy used the same rifle on impala, sprinbok, blesbok, a klipspringer, 2 wildebeest, a gemsbok and a kudu. Shortest shot was 225 yard, all the others were over 300 with the final shot at the kudu at 400 yards, all bang flop. I took a cull kudu at 420 yards, a grey rhebuck, a mountain rhebuck and a kilpspringer on the trip with the rifle. Everything dropped at the shot. Both professional hunters were very impressed with the bullet performance, as was I. I've used the bullet on Minnesota whitetails in the past, but always a 125 yards or less. I've been using Bergers for about 10 years now and have total confidence in their performance, from 20# steenbuck to grizzly bears, they have not let me down! I'll post some photos after I sleep!

I haven't tried the Elite Hunters.
But have been impressed with the performance of the VLD Hunting.
Daughters whitetailed buck at 70 yards with 257 Roberts 115gr VLD. "He puffed up, went straight legged, and fell over".

My large whitetailled doe (bigger body than my neighbors 10 point buck) at 413 yards shooting 7mm-08AI with 140gr VLD. She somehow made it 20 yards. Entry hole only. Both lungs destroyed. Heart in 2 pieces & consistancy of goo. Found jacket on offside between hide &1 inch of fat.
