Tikka T3x whats your thoughts on Barrel support/ remove and bed action ??

My doctor is going on big game hunt in BC in Sept he has never shot Rifles very much he is a bird hunter.
I helped him putting on scope 2.5 to 10x LPS. Gun is new Tikka T3x in 7mm rem magnum he bought some Winchester X 140gr to sight in and practice with and some Federal Terminal Ascent 7mm Rem Magnum 155gr
he and I shot and fired 3 shots groups at 100y and both were under 1". Moved scope up 1.5 " 6 clicks and went to 200y grouped 1.5 " high but as gun barrel was rather warm group went crazzy big we let barrel cool at least 1/2 hour or more and I fired two shots at 200y and bullets were close together.
barrel is not free floating it has a plastic u shaped support piece againts barrel I have read on Tikka forum in USA
saying don't touch other say remove and free float is way to go ? some say stock is flimsy when using a front bipod like Harris or Sinclair types. All my Rifles benchrest, F class and hunting rifles are all bedded and free floated and everyone shooting competion I know all free float there barrels see my Remington 700 with Robertson stock bedded by Ian Robertson
I tell you one thing my 7mm Rem 700 is nice to shoot but the Tikka is a pure mean kicking mule.weight of LPS is to be added to Tikka 17.2 oz plus rings and base guns close to same weight
Your thoughts on this ?

Free float the barrel and leave it.

The way a Tikka is designed its pretty hard to bed it.

I’ve never found the Tikka factory stock to be flimsy when shooting off a bipod.

Free floated my T3 lite 30-06, a kicker, put a clamp on break on the muzzle and have pillar bedded other Tikka syn. stocks that I believe helped, with confidence anyway.

Leave the stock alone and ensure that scope ain’t moving you’re good to go.
As long as the recoil don’t kill him that is...

Check that the recoil lug is fitted into the barrel slot properly and that it is contacting into the lug recess in the stock. You could always upgrade and put it in a V block carbon stock, but being a Rem mag maybe not!
But the recoil lug would be my pick for opening up the groups.

reload before you do ANYTHING!

other than work the trigger if needed?

it its not broke don't fix it!

I have several and they work just fine as Sako intended...No need to fuss.
They have all been tack drivers, with pretty much anything i throw together.
