Tikka T3X Varmint Model Owners

Need some information on the Varmint Model - hope you can help.

How wide is the factory stock in the fore arm area at it's great width? Does the width taper down toward the tip of the fore arm. The area I'm most interested is 6 to 8" from the trigger guard.

Reason I need to know is that I want to know if it will fit snugly in my shooting cross sticks or is it too wide for that kind of use. I normally place the rifle in the sticks about 6 to 8" from the trigger guard.

Thanks for the help.

About 1 7/8" wide @ 7" from the front action screw. The forearm is about 1 1/2" at the front to 2 1/4" at it's widest point in the rear.

Thank you - that's very helpful - one of the other poster's indicated that the wide section of the forearm is removeable which would even be better for me shooting off a shooting stick..

Correct. I shot my ctr like that a few times so I could use the same front bag as my Superlite. Worked, but felt...."weird". lol
