Tikka T1x

I have owned numerous T1s and T3s (the same trigger is used in both) and the low end weight it would adjust down to varied from trigger to trigger. I had one that with a spring change would go down to 10 oz, I have another one that with the spring change only goes down to 1 lb.
The sears on Tikka trigger are a precision ground rather than being adjustable so it is not surprising that there will be a slight variance from trigger to trigger but all of mine, with a spring change, would adjust to below 1-1/2 lbs which I believe is what Tikka states as their minimum.

Worked on it more today, I just put the factory spring back in it . 1.5 lbs is as low as I can get it consistently.

Well it eludes me, so without scrounging around for my Tikka T1X manual can someone that knows definitely what the adjustable weight range is supposed to be on the Tikka's? I read over on Snipers Hide that a spring that works well in a Tikka T1X trigger yo bring the weight down is an AR-15 bolt catch spring. So I was putting an order in a Midway an ordered an AR Stoner spring for $1.99. I'll give it a try. On Snipers Hide several guys or more I'm sure have done this and have said it is safe and functions without issue.

Take your spring out and reset the trigger with your finger then cock it and measure the release force, no spring in the world can make it any lighter.

I read that posted some where else just earlier today. So that's after I ordered the spring. So my understanding is they vary. I read that also, here, and on rimfire central.
I guess I'll dig out my manual for Tikka T1X trigger weights.
2-4lbs.

Ok, so I was getting in some shooting this morning trying to not be aggravated with the trigger on my Tikka, putting in some decent groups for me, and a fly lands on the very edge of my 50 yard target.KIMG0303.JPG

I did the Yo-Dave on my CZ457, My dads CZ557, and his Tikka T1x. In all cases there was an improvement to pull weight while keeping sear engagement safe. All of our rifles are set to pull weights of 10-12oz if at all possible. I would recommend a fine polishing stone on the T1x sear if you are comfortable trying it. I can’t imagine that the geometry is so far off that it wouldn’t go under 1lb, not from Tikka. Can’t help but suspect a light polish would go a long way.

Edit: Stock has been claimed. Should be on its way to the new owner as soon as I find an appropriate box.

Also, If anyone is interested I have a Boyd’s varmint laminate for a Tikka T1x. It was on my dads rifle before he bought a KRG chassis for his T1x. I did sand the bottom flat enough to mount a 12” Area419 Arcalock rail, and there are countersunk T-nuts in the forend. It is a nice little stock, but didn’t give a good check weld for him. Hence buying the adjustable KRG. Postage and it can go to the first interested party. It’s just taking up space in the safe, otherwise.
If the Boyds stock is still available I would like to have it.
Sending a PM

Shot a local fun match Saturday, took a nap after lunch and slept a little too long and was in a hurry to leave and forgot the wind flags, didn't shoot good at all until the last 2 stages, nothing spectacular just tolerable. So today I'm loafing around and took the Tikka to the garage for a good cleaning, had my shooting bench already set up on the porch of the garage so I decided to warm the barrel up, wind was blowing the tailsock from 45 to 90 degrees but from a constant direction, so I set up on the 150 yard target, once I had my come up I shot 3 groups. Pics coming

I usually load 5 at a time but one had rolled of the bench without me noticing, that's target with just 4 shots, these were shot with CCI standard velocityKIMG0323.JPGKIMG0324.JPG
