Tikka T1x

Bolt Gun Bodacious
Anyone own a factory Tikka T1x ?

As I understand it for under $500 they have a very good trigger and are fairly accurate.

Thinking of getting one for sporter class comps. Any information appreciated.

I have one and really like it. Mine is accurate enough to do well in the sporter classes I shoot. For $453 out the door IMO you’ll be hard pressed to find a better quality more accurate rifle.

The lop is a little short for me so I added a t3x recoil pad. I also added the beavertail forend and the vertical grip. All this is available directly from Beretta, owners of Sako and Tikka. Boyd’s also makes reasonably priced stocks for them.

I have one and compete with it in several classes. My base class rig is the stock rifle, 12x SWFA and an add on cheek riser. with this I can wreck the base class, and beat most of the open class that I shoot against. The scope holds me to about MOA at all distances 22lr. When I use it for open class, I drop the barreled action into a weighted GRS sporter stock and use my Vortex AMG on it for glass. With the added clarity and power of that scope, I can run into the .5's at 100yds with match ammo. They are probably the best value for out of the box accuracy for a 22lr right now. It's fun to shoot my base rifle alongside the vudoo's and out shoot them.

Another T1X shooter here. Really like it so far. I dropped it in a T1X chassis and began to shoot. It likes the SK+ ammo I have right now so that’s a plus.

I have two. One that I shoot in nrl22 base class one my daughter shoots. I have shot .3 at 50y with certain lots of sk match and center x. Best 22 for the money being offered in my opinion

I would need to figure out a chassis that will still make weight for sporter class.. . 8 pounds In the matches I shoot.

I just really don't care for the factory stock.

as long as your scope isn't too heavy, I'd think that you could make 8lbs easy. my grs is right around 3lbs empty, add 3lbs for barreled action and another 1.5 for scope and rings, you could make it. that action and barrel are real light.

Helpful, thx. Chassis Im looking at are under 3 lb. Thinking a Weaver T36 or similar. A little worried about the Weaver because there is no more factory support I am told. Want to find something like it though.

The main unknown there was the weight of the Tikka barreled action so thanks for that.

I have a krg bravo brand new on stock classifieds if somebody wants one. Action really fits nice. Fits T1X
thanks

The trigger is good as it comes, but I put a YoDave spring in, it around 1lb. now. Accuracy is way better than fair. It will shoot with about any ammo you put in it. search my other post.

I own a Tikka or two, they are great for the money, the trigger can be greatly improved with a spring thats on ebay for 10.49, this spring is hands down the best one I have tried, got mine down to 10oz. You can also add a sear adjustment and get it a bit lower for bench use only. The Tikkas do well in ARA factory class.
