I pre ordered 1 in 17HMR at Euro Optics. I think these were thought out very well and will be a big hit. I have a new Tikka T3x camo stock I kept that I will use to put the barreled action into and have an extra spring to replace in the trigger. Does any one know for sure how the barrels are attached to the receiver?

I heard differently. I’m hearing they are held in by two screws and loctited in. Not geared towards being a switch barrel type rifle but the barrel can be easily removed. First thing I’m doing once I get my hands on one is a restock to a pro varmint, Timney Trigger, a once over on the bolt, bedding it, and slapping a match barrel on it .

If this is the case with the barrel, are the barrels interchangeable with the Sako Quads and the Lilja barrels working on these? If not how are you going to go about putting a custom match barrel on the rifle? As long as the Sako Quad has been out I am surprised no one else makes a match barrel for these other than Lilja.

I can’t answer if it’s a dead on match to the quad but I sure hope it isn’t. I’d rather turn a perfectly round shank and glue the barrel in. The quad doesn’t have sufficient metal at the bottom to allow for a good glue in. Hopefully this is different having metal all around like a cz 455. Barrel will be custom fitted to the action. Drop ins while the barrels are excellent quality (Lilja), the fit and chambers used aren’t my cup of tea.
