Tikka T1x - FIRST LOOK - hands-on with pics

**T1X LINK - SPECS**

The first ones have been delivered after much waiting! Got hands-on them yesterday! I see many custom alterations of this one in the future!

*1/2-28 muzzle thread

*.860 hole spacing on a flat-top, so it will not take the normal T3 rail (pictured), but would accept a 2 piece option (like these for the Tikka T3)

*T3 footprint and bottom metal so it will drop into any stocks designed for the T3 or T3x

*same awesome trigger that can be taken to 2lbs and below easy.

*Pictured next to a Tac-A1

*10rd mags that are fairly reasonably priced **MAGS**

*glad to see they replaced the painted aluminum knob with (what seems like) stainless

It looks nice, id love to know how bolt lift is. Shame they didnt give it a nice laminated stock instead of Tupperware

IMO, and since you injected the idea by placing them together, this neat little 22LR would be a perfect compliment to the TAC A1 chassis.

Not if you would like it to feed from the magazine - definitely some high quality options out there though

I just got through reading about this rifle in Rifle shooter magazine and from what I read it is a tac-driver.
There were 4 different types of 22LR ammo used and all groups were from 0.49 to 0.69 at 50 yards. I am going to have to think about one of these seriously for sure.:):)
Thanks carl1575!

I saw posts with photos of a couple of these on Snipers Hide today - one in a GRS stock/chassis, the other in an AI chassis. Very cool new 22RF rifle, would like to put one in a Manners PRS-1 stock.

I am just like the rest of you guys, for the last 3 days I have wore my computer out looking for one of these rifles. The last one I couldn't live with out (at any cost) was a CZ in 6.5 Grendel, $250 over msrp I am the first kid on the block to have the first one. I have been doing this to my self sense I was 40, and now I am 80. The first one that started this run was a AR 15, I think I had one of the first rifles in Yakima. I let every one at our range shoot it the first year I owned it. I have had a life time habit of buying high and selling low (I am a pro at it) so I think this time I am going to cool my heals and wait, I didn't think I would every say that. Carl in Yakima

carl, you sound like a farmer "buying high & selling low"...lol I'm not 80 yet, but have had my issues with not being able to resist the temptation to buy 'cool stuff'. Bought a CZ 527 carbine in 7.62x39 to get the right boltface so I could re-barrel it for 6RAT. Then when Howa announced their Mini action in 6.5 Grendel, bought a couple more for the same purpose. Saw an ad on EuroOptic's website for "the ultimate trainer", a fance 22RF bolt repeater with Bartlein bbl on a Stiller 2500XR action, in a Manners Elite T4A action with custom bottom metal by Seekins. I choked on the $4000+ price, but wanted one badly enough to buy the Stiller action, fit & chamber a Krieger 22rf blank, and even found an extra stock Manners had made for the EO run, and bought it. Turned out as a very nice rifle, accurate & tons of fun to shoot, but then I became aware of a conversion of Rem 40X 22rf rifles that turned them into repeaters using a 10 poly mag that mimics the shape & size of AICS 308 mags...had two 40Xs purchased from CMP at a bargain price, so converted & re-barreled both of them. Then came the Vudoo Gun Works V-22, and now there are a few of them sitting in the closet.... If only I were half the salesman as some guys I know are, I could re-coup part of the $$$ that's tied up in rifles just sitting around.

It takes a little re-engineering to the stock to make it work and while the Tikka trigger is pretty good it isn't a 5018 trigger. I may have to try the new KRG midas 2 stage trigger. First time at the range was yesterday: cold, wet, drizzling rain with mud soaking through my prone mat it still shot pretty good, can't wait for a range day where I can feel my trigger finger.

Let me know if you decide to part with a 40x repeater. I still want one :)
