I have a Tikka T3 30-06 that I had the barrel removed. The smith had to put a relief cut in the barrel to get it off the receiver. (I moved and no longer in contact with the gunsmith) It looks like he got real close to the receiver with the lathe and I worry that he might of remove a little off the receiver which would rule out a shoulder prefit. I can't tell by looking at if there was material removed from the receiver. To me It doesn't look like he hit the receiver but I don't want to take any chances.

I need to measure the bolt face to action face. I can't find any info on what that measurement should be. Anyone know where to find this measurement? I can always just do a barrel nut prefit but would rather not if possible.
My plan was to go from 30-06 to 6.5x55. Searching I find that the 30-06 bolt "should" work. Swede bolt face is .480" and the 30-06 family is .473". I tried extracting a piece of 6.5x55 brass from my Tikka 6.5x55 rifle with the bolt from my 30-06 rifle and it cycled the brass fine. Is there anything more I can do to make sure the 30-06 bolt will work?
