Tikka problems?

Has any one had any action problems with their Tikka rifles whatsoever?

I am interested in a older Tikka witch I believe is called the model 695, did they make a 6.5 x 55 with a longer barrel? 24" at least.

I believe some time ago when they were called "Whitetail Hunter" they had a recall for some problems. I had two, never had a problem and very accurate. I would suggest you contact them.

I have a tikka 595 whitetail hunter in 7mm-08 . the 595 is a short action , a 695 is a long action . probably the smoothest action I have used . I haven't had any problems with mine , and it does shoot well . I think the recall was on barrels splitting .

Im sure they chambered there M-695 action in 6.5 x 55, the M-695 and the M-55 actions which i have are as slick as my sako and viper actions. They also chambered 6.5x55 in the M55 action . I've never had a problem with the trigger or action, great guns, and mine are 30 years old.

I and my son own 3 Tikka 595's in 22 250 and a 695 in 7mm Rem mag. The only problem I had in my 22 250 Whitetail Hunter was that one year just after I got it, on a very cold sub zero day, I spotted a den of coyotes out about 1/2 mile from the road, that were coming out and laying to get some sun. Dressed all in white, I trekked out to within about 250 yards of them, laid down, waited to catch my breath, and got a nice bigger one in my crosshairs. Upon squeezing the trigger, the rifle wouldn't fire. I thought the safety might be on or partially on and moved it back and forth several times to no avail.....it wouldn't fire or click or anything. Needless to say, I wasn't happy. Came to find out the original internal bolt firing pin lube was too thick and froze the firing pin from falling. Since completely cleaning that out never had any more problems.

Early Tikka's are/were great rifles......expect at least one pound heavier than the current T3's...

Tikka in Finnish means 'Woodpecker' look at the Tikka emblem closely

My old 695 is in 300WM. Wonderful rifle, and continue to hunt with it every year. Super smooth action, crisp adjustable trigger, reliable dbm. Elk at 550yd this season! I installed a longer bolt handle last Fall for improved access under the scope.

I don't have any of the older actions but never heard anything bad about them. I currently have 2 T3s, you can get a new one in 6.5x55
