Tikka Master Sporter

My son is showing some interest in accurate shooting and I was thinking of a rifle good for the 300 and 600 yard competition.

I've seen some great reviews on the Master Sporter and the Savage Target rifles.

I've located a master Sporter for $1000 and the new savages are about the same.

Any thoughts on which rifle would be best?
My thoughts were that if he loses interest I could sell the master sporter fairly easy.

I believe the Master Sporter is the Tikka 595, Mac Tilton built one for me a few years ago, and it's simply the most accurate and smoothest action I've ever seen.
