tikka firing pin problem

Afriend of mine has a tikka m595 in 22-250 it shoots very good groups with a variety of powder/bullet combos, but lately the groups will open right up.i looked at his fired cases and noticed the primers are not being struck by the pin dead center
[very off centre].i looked at the bolt and saw that the pin hole looked to have been worn to one side could this be his problem and whats the solution? any suggestions greatly accepted.

If the firing pin rubs against the bolt face hole, it could lead to erratic ignition, and could cause the problem. A gunsmith can correct this by installing a bushing which will center the pin.

Most rifles don't hit the primer dead center. Tenring is correct about bushing the bolt.
How many rounds through this rifle? Does he shoot one shot sfter the next pretty quickly? 22-250's are like magnums. BBLS don't last very long from my experience, especially if shots are fired closely together. I nhad Remington bbls that were done by 1200 rounds.

CHRIS the rifle was bought second hand from a rfd/smith we know
he reckoned it had no more than 300 rounds through it and i beleive him.since my mate has had the gun hes put approx 200 rounds through it,no hot loads at all.
he will shoot groups of 3/5 shots when checking zero or load testing, letting it cool between.this weekend we are going to see another smith who is going to rebarell my 17 rem with alilja tube[cant wait for this to be done] he says he will give it the once over borescope it; strip the bolt ;check screws ;etc.hope this will give us some answers:confused::confused:
