Tikka action strength

Are tikka actions strong enough and big enough to run a ultra or edge if a conventional lug is used? Single load of course so not concerned if it will mag feed. Thanks

Good question!! I believe they have a 1" x 16 tpi tennon. Personally, I would not chamber a Tikka in anything bigger than what the factory chambers. I would not open up the bolt face bigger than what comes from the factory either. To much bolt thrust can be a really bad thing! Looking forward to the other answers that you may get. Just my personal opinion. :D:D

They make a 338 win mag from the factory. The bolt face is the same for a edge or something like the 30 nosler I believe. I expect a “no ya can’t do that” on a tikka but I am curious.

Look for a M995 Sako action they were chambered in variety of large caliber 338 Lapua for one. But these rifle are very light in weight I have a 338 Lapua with no break and it is a stout kick off the bench
