Tight throat or oversized bullet or ????

I sincerely appreciate everyone's input on this issue. Taking a combination of what everyone was saying I first scrubbed the hell out of the throat area using copious quantity of solvent, nylon brush and polishing compound. I could then cleary see the land marks on a load that was seated to 2.785. I seated it to 2.770 and all is good.

Special thanks to dkhunt14 who pointed out that I was seating a tangent ogive and comparing to a secant and sometimes the seat depth can be very different. He was spot on.

Just seen this and yes, dkhunter is usually right. That's why we nick named him EARL! ;D My buddy just had the same problem, all we did was change neck tension by 2 thou. And with the same seating depth that it was before, it would not chamber. So we made up a dummy round and found we had to seat the bullet 20 thou deeper. Problem solved. And it still is touching the lands Earl! I know he always tells me they have to be in the lands.
