Tight neck 6mmBR?

I got a used stainless steel Lilja 22" 5 pound 6mmBR barrel with .262" neck chamber.

I usually cut new threads and put all barrels on surplus Mauser actions.

My delema is that the chamber is .262" and I do not usually turn necks. I am thinking the possibilities are:
1) Buy a 6mmRemBR reamer with .272" neck for $90
2) But a .269" straight fluted reamer with no pilot for $11, and hope it stays centered.
3) Get good at turning necks.

What would you do?
TIA

It's a used barrel, so it has a questionable life span to start with. If you plan on buying your own reamer to use on other barrels in the future this is one option, but I wouldn't do it for just one used barrel. Any good BR smith could open the neck up for you for a slight cost, which would probably be the smartest route to go on a used barrel. Or, you could just sell it again, and start from scratch.

I would set the barrel back and cut a new chamber as the throat will likely be eroded now you could buy a reamer but i would not use any reamer without a pilot. or Reamer rentals will rent you one for a few days and i believe it is reasonably priced that would be your best potion.

What is the barrel out of and what action do you want to put it into. are they the same even say they are remingtons you may still require a reamer to re headspace the chamber if the actions do not headspace the same say one was trued and the other was not or one has a thicker recoil lugg.

Get hold of a reamer or get a gunsmith to run the reamer into the chamber deep for you so you can thread cut it and cut the clearences a gunsmith may just cut a chamber fairly cheeply for you as another option. I would not neck turn for the 6mmBR as it is a seccond hand barrel and they shot very well without turning.

You could always get good at turning necks, but putting this into a Mauser action without blueprinting it will be a waste of time. 'O)

If it helps,I have a 17in barrel with a .262 neck that was second hand and it is also a lilja. It is a pain in the butt to neck turn but I shot 1/4 in at 200 yds with 55gr nbt at 3700fps. It does not routinely do this but it will put them in a 1/2in at that distance. It shoots in the 1s and 2s at 100 with the same 55gr nbt and the 68gr berger which I don't use to much because of cost. Just my .02, RG
