Another 6mmBr brass question

With the new blue box brass in 6mmBr and you have a no neck turn chamber reamer from PT&G. I can't remember the exact size at the moment. Do you still neck turn in the shoulder junction to alleviate doughnuts from forming ?? Maybe take a .001" off on the neck itself ?
Thanx again,
Rmist

Yes, most will still turn the necks to make the wall thickness more consistent and that includes going minutely into the shoulder as you described.

When would one expect to see a donut? I'm on my fourth reload of a set of brass. FLRS every time with a Forster die (non-bushing).

Curious if I should worry about turning or not since I am not using bushing dies.

Put me in the group who doesn't. Obviously you are referring to Lapua brass and I did turn necks with the Brown box, but quit when the blue box came out. I did considerable testing between the two brass boxes (and I shoot strictly 100 yds) and there was no decline in my score using the no turn blue box brass. Guess it might also depend on your particular rifle/chamber as it always does when shooting a precision rifle. Also remember the blue box brass is thinner than before, hence the nick name, "no turn brass." And yes, I do understand the rationale that some use in turning new blue box brass. Each to his own I guess.

Why would you see a donut? When you form the case from a BR. part of the new shoulder was the neck. same thickness as the new neck. Dashers don't grow after the second firing very much......... jim
