My father was awarded $750,000 in a civil case which the jury decided the award. He paid for the lawyer out of pocket. To this day he's about -$150,000 in the case. Hasn't received a dime.

Want weird? Have shares in a company that goes bankrupt. You will receive letters, phone calls etc., all looking to solicit your business.
There is an entire industry of law firms that do nothing but go after brokers and brokerage houses. They don’t bother with class action suits one bit. Those brokers and their house could be in violation of many laws. They all have insurance by law. You’d be shocked at the number of laws that they may have violated.
Again it doesn’t happen overnight but you may actually not be last in line.
