I didn't read every post.
But I get the concentrate permethirn above, mix it in a big bucket of water, take several clothes garments you intend to wear, dip tell soaking wet and ring back out into bucket, hang up to dry. I do it with a bunch of clothes options and well there mostly hunting clothes so don't wash them often.
It's been great.
I may still spray occasionally but it's not really needed

I have now had them either bite me or find them crawling on me, all 12 months of the year.
I quit hunting mushrooms for the most part because of them. The little SOB’s with the white dot, ends up like a 30-90 day mosquito bite. Never had them when we were kids stomping all over creation.

I tend to agree, spraying Permethrin on me, but have you seen what DEET does to plastic?
I once left some in my fishing box that leaked out and half my lures looked plain melted.
Then there's the other alternative of getting Lymes disease if we don't use "SOMETHING"
I think I might try the Peppermint oil now

Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever carrying ticks don't require that long. 2 hours or less. Unfortunately, I learned that from experience.

Other diseases can be transmitted in as little as 15 minutes. Do some research.

I have found few to no ticks since dipping my boys clothes and none that bite me. It's the easiest solution I have found and it last well past the entire turkey season. So here in WI and staring spring turkey earlier in other states, at most 2 clothes dips the entire rock season
