Pro is they look sexy. Con is they are bulky, offer limited hand options and really difficult to use from many if not all positions.
Not a good choice for any kind of benchrest or most all competition that uses a controlled position.

Non competition shooting? Like the glove upon the hand.

My favorite? Right hand heavy bench rest style thumb hole with a mounted left hand repeater modified single shot action. Just at 15+ pounds. Right hand stays in the thumb hole while the free left hand works the bolt and feeds ammo. Love it.
