That 10" chuck is a mite large for you Logan. As for milling vises, I'd look for a Kurt or TE-CO. Even a used one is better than a new Enco. Nothing worse than 'fighting' your work holding tools. They were almost all brand new in the package. I didn't buy the well used looking ones. I'm looking for an Aloris for the lathe and a 6" enco vise was on the Millrite. I've already picked up a 10" 4 jaw independent Pratt Burnerd chuck rated to 2300 rpm. No wear on the chuck. Looks like it was never used. Has some discoloration that I think is mostly dried oil.
Remember , you have to have to have some knowledge of the work before you spend foolish money . This is a good time to point out finding a good teacher . At least to take with you to the auctions . The money you spent on less than useful products could of been towards your shop building .
The horse goes in front of the cart !
You just didn't watch enough u-Tube!Agreed. I've bought a bunch of crap I've found I don't need. And a good deal of it I can't sell, because nobody else needs it, either.![]()
Where are you guys getting the fitting to fit on the barrel? I may eventually build one and will use Hocut as well. Our entire shop uses hocut
You missed where I bought a Colchester Clausing Student 2500. The chuck I bought is OEM for that lathe. Same as a Harrison M300.That 10" chuck is a mite large for you Logan.
