Wasn't there a rock and roll group by the same name? :
Made it out last night prior to the storms arrival and saw one crossing the lane on the way in! I parked short of my shooting lanes and grabbed the 700 in 7mm RSAUM and a couple of 162 gr. A-Max rounds then walked in. Expecting a longer shot and hence my rifle choice what do I spy but this one at 86 yards checking me out! Went prone and the outcome was predicted!
Returned to the vehicle and got my Stable Table along with the .17 AH and set up over looking a 500 yard lane of Alfalfa bordered by a tree line on one side and Soy Beans on the other! It don't get much better than that, if I could just get the Chucks to feel the same! Nothing but enjoying my pipe(tobacco not the funny stuff) for 1/2 hour or so. Grabbed the .17AH and walked 40-50 yards to check out the other side of the tree line and I see this one at 95 yards in a grass area across the lane. I drop to the prone and sent one from it's south end and it actually exited! Normally the 20 gr. V-Max at 3575 FPS MV doesn't. It dropped immediately and waived the surrender flag.
Spent a couple hours making the rounds between the bench and walking the .17 when on one pass I spy this one at 175 yds. Same story, prone, shoot, surrender flag!
All three were this years and although I was there for some of the large old ones I will count these to bring my total to 58 for the season.
