threading a barrel for a Pac Nor Savage type barrel nut for Rem 700

Have any of you guys had any success with the accuracy of this kind of rig? I have a brand new 243 Winchester SS Varmint barrel, that I want to be a beater gun. Of course the barrel dia on the win is 1.150 and the barrel tenon on the Rem is 1.060-1.065, which would only give a Remington recoil lug .042-.045 of a shoulder to butt up against on the barrel. This tiny lip might not support a Varmint weight barrel.

I would appreciate any advise.

There have been several threads on the remmage conversion and everyone I have read had good accuracy with this set up.

That is plenty of shoulder to support the barrel

If you keep the recoil lug fitted tight, you should not have a problem..
