Threaded 6mm BR Barrel

How many of you have a threaded barrel for a suppressor on your 6mm BR?

Looking at purchasing the Savage 6mm BR Norma and it doesn't come with a threaded barrel. I contacted Savage Special Order Department, and they told me they can thread it, if requested through a dealer. However, they said they have yet to see a request for a threaded 6mm BR.

Just curious if a suppressor is really needed and if this is something that I should pursue?

As popular as suppressors have become, it surprises me that Savage says they've never threaded for one, even on a 6BR. All I can figure is just people not knowing they offer that service and having them done by their respective gunsmiths. I used to do a ton of brakes on all calibers. Averaged about 175 brake jobs a year for somewhere close to 20 years. Mostly threading for suppressors now though and I've backed off of gunsmithing work drastically since then. Just not enough time for everything.

Just skip the Savage and get a Mac Bros or something like that and I'll make you a 6br barrel that I bet you'll like. And I thread nearly all the barrels these days.

My 6bra has a brake on it now but I recently started suppressor paperwork.

I thought the same thing with people not knowing what is being offered at Savage. The person that I spoke with was helpful with answering my questions and hope the knowledge was coming from experience and not AI generated.

There are no 6mmBR variants here (unless a 6mmGT counts), but as I have multiple suppressors, I get everything threaded now. I have even had a couple of my older barrels threaded.

If you are getting a new barrel, I just do not see a downside other than the uncharted and possibly a thread protector.

I have several barrels machined by Urbanrifleman and all have shot much better than I can. He also gave me very good advise on a custom action, better trigger, and style of after market stock that all came together very well. I am very happy with his services and strongly recommend his business.
I second that 100% Nice barrels.
