Thread locker

Getting ready to mount a new scope on my new FTR rifle.
Is the purple locktite enough for the screws or should I use the blue stuff?

Blue for base screws & purple for ring screws?

I use blue for the base and nothing on the ring screws.

I agree. I will add, if you put 1 layer of masking tape in the bottom ring, sticky side down, your scope will never slip in the rings.

I use VC-3 Vibra-Tite and 15in. lbs. on mine.

I NEVER use any thread locker on the ring screws.
I torque the ring screws to 18-20 in pounds depending on brand and screw size.

I’ve used blue on bases and rings for years. The stuff in the lipstick tube won’t run where you don’t want it.
