thread adapter for 6.5x284

I have a savage 111 LRH 6.5x284. It has the adjustable on/off muzzle brake with a thread pattern of 9/16x28. With the can i bought having a pattern of 5/8x24, do you know if or where i can get an adapter to make this work?

Think about it there us only 1/16" difference between the major diameters of the two threads, and the threads are a different pitch. Do you think it is possible to make an adapter for that?

At it's thinnest point, there is less than 1/64" metal between the two. That is a bomb on a barrel. The permit belongs to the can acording to the ATF,so you have a problem. You can be certain the Feds read this site so be careful.

Im not going to do anything if it is unsafe. That is why i asked the question first. I am not familiar with how it works so tjat is why i asked

I have the brake on there right now. Im trying to figure out how to get a suppressor on it.

Depending on the suppressor, and depending on whether you intend to use it on another gun, the best solution would be to send it back to the mfr. to have replace the endcap with one that is correctly threaded.

TAKE a pc. of 3/4" s.s. thread 1 side for 9/16x28tpi. to screw onto the bbl. on the other end thread 5/8x24 male tpi. to screw INTO the suppressor..IT WILL LOOK UGLEY but it will be safe...OR................
depending on the size of your barrel u can cut it back far enough to allow threadding for 5/8x24 to fit the suppressor,& then IF YOUR BRAKE WILL ALLOW IT RETHREAD IT TO 5/8X24 & YOUR PROBLEM IS SOLVED.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have 3 other rifles ill be using this same suppressor for so that is where the problem comes in with one rifle already having 9/16x28 threads. May just cut back barrel and re-thread it.
