Thoughts on Kelbly triggers?

I got word a buddy of mine is dismantling a rifle with a Kelbly trigger that he might sell for a reasonable price. I have not heard much about Kelbly triggers before, does anyone know what they are like? How do they compare to Jewels and Bix,n Andy when set at around 8 oz? Any reason we do not hear much about them?

I have one on a Panda F class rig. Sorry I cant give an in depth review but mine has been no problem. I have mine set on around 6oz and have never had a problem, never had it go off when it shouldn't or vice versa. It has minimal creep, seems crisp enough, just like my Jewels have been.
Mine gets used in sandy and dusty environment some times and has not caused an issue so far. I would like to hear more about what people say about these Kelbly triggers or the Flavio Fare triggers.

Actualy, I remember only one incident. When I had my trigger set pretty light, once or twice, when I closed the bolt on a tight case, I got an A.D, not sure if this happens with other triggers when set very light, with very stiff bolt closing on a sticky case? When I screwed tension up a little more, this went away. Are other triggers the same?

I have two on Panda SR BR guns and they are good.....a subtle different feel than Jewels, but extremely reliable. They did have a problem early on with parts that were not properly heat treated...I had one that developed creep...Kelbly fixed it no charge. I will confess, I have one old Jewell 2 oz BR that is a favorite....my other Jewells just don't compare.

One thing to consider about Kelby's, I think they have the best customer service in the industry.

Good luck on your choice.

I have more than my share of them and will keep right on buying them when I can.
Never ever had a problem with any of them..

Well it is good to hear they do not have reliability issues. I am more concerned about slam fires, failure to fire or cock if it gets a little dirty, or have a primer blank than I am about the pull being within 1% each time.

Sounds like you need to look into a Bix N Andy...

Like i said on one of the other 4 or 5 trigger posts at 6-10oz youll never see a difference in the bna and kelbly except in your wallet. The bix is made to not vary in pull weight so you can get away with setting it beliw an ounce. When a trigger varies 1/2oz in pull weight that is very frustrating when one time it wont cock and the next it holds. If i was to want a 6oz trigger it would be a kelbly. If i wanted a 3oz trigger it would be a kelbly. If i wanted to show off id show you a bix'n andy set at 1oz in my br rigs

I have Jewells one BR and one with safety,,they both have the light spring but the one with safety is better set low,,my BR sometimes when I am ready to shoot it seems to take more pressure to fire and about the time it breaks the wind changes,,

I may need to put that on a varmint rifle and get a BNA for my SR BR rifle,,
