Thoughts On Decent Bolt Action Rimfire 22 LR

Like the title says, what say ye?
Looking for a good bolt action 22 with a threaded barrel. Currently running a Ruger 10-22 in a Stockey’s thumbhole stock, Green Mountain 20 inch threaded barrel and a Power Custom trigger job. Already have several CZ 452’s, all non threaded. Thinking about a Tikka T1x or maybe a Savage or???
Thanks

I have a CZ 452, Tikka T1X, Bergara BXR, and a 1416HB Anschutz. All are threaded but the CZ. The 1416 is an entry level Anschutz and it cost me right around a grand. I like it far better than the other 3. The trigger is wonderful at 6oz. I like the Tikka second after the Anschutz.

I would suggest keeping your eye on the rimfire central forum for a while. They have some great stuff there from time to time.

I have a T1X and an Anschutz 54 Sporter. They shoot ver close to each other at 50 and 100 yards with Eley yellow box or RWS50. I am a wood and blued steel guy and I like the Anschutz better than the T1 but we are talking a large price difference for similar performance.

CZ is not threaded but there is an abundance of aftermarket barrels that you can swap yourself in a matter of minutes. And probably more aftermarket support than anything except a 1022.

Enjoy the rabbit hole. My two cents Bergara B14R or CZ 457 MTR and buy a trigger.

CZ and tikkas are fine rifles however there isnt anything quite like a true custom built 22 built by someone who knows the ins and outs of 22LR building there are several folks out there chambering 22lr these days very few actually know the craft. do your research and enjoy the process

Kidd barrels are fantastic on the 10/22 platform, just saying, crazy accurate.

I have a Tikka T1X, 2 actually, 16” and 20”. Great rifles, one is more accurate than the other but they both do a good job. They come with threaded barrels which is nice. I have some CZs too, also accurate rifles, I like some of the older models better than current offerings.

Another fun option is the Browning T-Bolt. I have an older one but a friend has a new 16.5” that shoots very well.

Are you looking for new or is used an option?

If the budget allows some of the Anshutz rifles are great. Used Kimbers, Coopers and other are fun but rarely threaded. Some of the new Anshutz are.

My most accurate 22 is a heavy barreled Winchester 74, fun rifle.

Or consider a custom as reply #15 mentions.

I am leaving my options open. Used does not bother me. I suppose I could throw a Kidd barrel on the 10-22 and see how it shoots. Currently its sporting a 20 inch Green Mountain. Accuracy seems decent.
