Thoughts about a Short Barrel 7RSAUM???

I am trying to decide what is going to be my next build.

Does anyone have any experience with a 20" 7RSAUM? I own a reamer that Dave at PT&G built for me to utilize the 180grain Berger Hybrids, so I would plan on using it again. My 24" #6 Contour barrel shoots great but I am considering a lighter barreled carry gun for deer hunting.

Any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

I once bought a scope that pretty much came with a free Savage 110fp in 300 win mag that some genius other than myself had cut the barrel to 16". Talk about a fireball!

20" in a saum should do just fine though, and that should be a damn nice hunting round. Better make sure you can scrounge up some brass, its being hoarded by the 6.5saum guys.

Phil,

I will run a suppressor on it, probably a 5" TBAC. That should tame it to a manageable noise level.

Matt,

Thanks

Now i`m jealous.......... ;)

slm9s,

I have some Norma Brass that I purchased for my other 7RSAUM that hasn't been shoot yet(75 rounds). I am looking for a dang good 500 yard hunting gun and the 7RSAUM has impressed me so far.

Thanks,
jim

Phil,

After shooting/hunting with a suppressed deer rifle last year, I don't plan or ever owning another rifle that isn't suppressed.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim,

I completely agree....

Problem is...the current state , in which i reside, says i`m not responsible enough to have one.

I am geographically restricted to my constitutional rights.... >:(

Alot of my buddies, that i shoot with, live out of state and are allowed to own them....

As the odd man out i am extremely jealous of my suppressed counter parts......Good luck with your build.

Phil.

Phil,

I feel for you. Maybe your state will reconsider Suppressors in the future. I don't even like shooting a 22 without one anymore.

Sorry
Jim
