This Just in From Oregon

idiots in nyc propose crap like this statewide regularly. Never goes anywhere.
It only takes 1 sane person in the legislature even on the anti-gun side to explain that 20 rounds a month level stupidity won't work.

After last election I hope we have at least one left.
I bet Oregon does.

Stuff like this has one upside. It may accelerate matters to a point where SCOTUS cannot ignore and hopefully make clear where the lines are on gun regulations. With Gorsuch and Kavanaugh on board, and Ginsburg possibly on her way out, the time is now. Clarence Thomas has been highly critical of SCOTUS for not hearing some 2A cases.

reloaders will be next - 20 bullets per month ration
Didn’t somebody mention the Berger website was down? Are they pulling all thier bullet boxes so they can refill them with only 20 bullets!? THAT would take the cake!

How can you regulate ammo purchases? Do you give everybody a subway sandwich punch card? Tattoo a check mark by the month/yr on a guys arm? Will the retailers like midway not ship any to oregon because they dont know if you bought some at fred meyer last week? How do you buy a bucket of 22 bullets- can you bank your 20ration until you get 1400credits built up? I figure this will breed a bunch of reloaders
regulating ammo purchases, a non-starter, agreed. how would the ( Police State of Oregon) do so?
Not to mention the massive workload, workforce, and responsibility that the Oregon local Sheriff & State Police would be tasked with.
Death of a thousand cuts, this OR proposal purports to be.

I can tell you that "crap like this" has been the law for years in NYC,
and Connecticut, where one has to have / present an ammo certificate to purchase ammo.

Oddly enough, passing through NYC, I have seen more exotic HK Subguns, AR15s, M4's in the hands on NYC Police, Natl Guard, SWAT squads - on the street, Grand Central Station, piling out of unmarked vans...

I ran a 1/2 marathon in NYC and some of the police detail "guarding" the runners (?) had sadly lacking basic barrel and weapon safety awareness.
NYPD are extremely well armed, yet it's a tall order for a citizen to have any kind of firearm there.

Yes I would expect so - and then will handloading fall within what the word 'received' is intended to catch in the 20 round limit - Line 12 Page 4.

See also:
Page 4
Line 14 - ammo sellers required to keep records.
Line 17 - Police exempt
Line 19 - ammo used for target shooting exempt

I see this is proposed at the request of Students For Change.

The bill came from Students for Change, a group of Lake Oswego teens formed last year after the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. They lobbied lawmakers and Gov. Kate Brown last year and pledged to come back this year with a legislative proposal.
Very ritzy suburb of Portland. I'm certain they borrowed mummy's X-5 to get the docs to the state capitol.

No way on gods green earth this wet dream will become law, we ain't San Fran yet.

Who would want to shoot more than 20 rounds of ammo per month?

Frankly, I hate to wish bad luck on anyone but someone has to carry the torch. I sometimes think it will be us here in CA.

Eventually a ridiculous law like this will pass and the challenge will make it to the supreme court and the tide will turn. If it is you in Oregon, then godspeed to you.

We no longer live in a great country. We are ruled and told what to do by a hand full of people that live in their own world and we have to erase history and give up our God givin freedoms that this country was built on because it offends the foreigners that move over here and do not like our ways.
This happened here 15 years ago ......
The only thing its missing if not having
The right to defend your self .

Oops I forgot to mention that here we have to sign a book to buy powder you buy what they think is too much and you get a visit and have to explain your self ........

Things could be a LOT worse. We could be on the side that was all set to RULE but did not believe in GUNS. Not a sound plan.
