I am the OP. I did not intend, or want, a debate on the legitimacy of people's reasons for not moving out of CA. Suffice to say, each has their own reasons, including for some an unwillingness to severely hurt others dear to us, and us to them...and worse. Is there ANY limit to what any of us will personally sacrifice, or the personal harm we cause to others, to escape living in CA?
One thing that is apparent is that there is power in numbers, and those numbers include every one of you (except where I fail a litmus test on where I live). That power was spoken to in my original post. Even the CA Attorney General wrote the following.
"...California has restricted the acquisition of LCMs for nearly two decades, and until the Judgment is stayed pending appeal, individuals will be free to acquire new LCMs, and there is evidence that sales have begun already. If Section 32310 is ultimately reinstated by the Ninth Circuit, it will be difficult for the State to remove these new LCMs...".
Indeed, it will be difficult, given how many 11+ mags have come in due to suppliers across the country supporting CA gun owners. And the fact that suppliers counted on other owners in free states to accept delays so CA customers could benefit in the short window they had. As one here wrote, "no man left behind".
California's 4.2M gunowners, who own far more guns than any other state, helped "LCMs" become more "in common use", a key element of the Heller decision. This is good for everyone. None of this would have happened had not George W. Bush appointed Judge Benitez to the bench, a president who was barely elected, making clear the importance of voting...by everyone.
While my thanks here has resulted in some personal criticism, I still stand by my thanks to the gun community and the people on this forum.
Best, and happy shooting.
