Thinking of making my Valkyrie to 6 and then 6.5

What is the thoughts on Powder choices?

Based on the case capacity.

Any thoughts on possible velocity with 22 inch barrel?

I did a quick case capacity on a fired round of each a 223, 22 valk and 223AI, three different guns and no attempt to compare anything of value.
31.2 standard 223
31.9 valkyrie
32.7 223 AI

The point is the case capacity is insignificantly larger than the standard 223 so don't get your hopes up too high.

The 224 Valk is just popular because it has a cool sounding name and a recent Tom Cruse movie lol. I can see that hyp behind it is already waining. I predict it will go the way of the dodo as did its parent the 6.8 SPC. Just make a 6PPC or 6.5Grendal. They are already established and are not going anywhere. Plus they both have more capacity then a 224 Valk By the way a 22PPC is about 200fps faster then a 224 Valk. So if someone in the big industry starts making those the 224 Valk will def die fast.

I think that the Valkyrie case isn’t going to have enough case capacity to be a 6.5. Maybe a 6, though. Try to find a 6 mm case that is close in capacity then start low and work up. Just be careful about bolt gun vs AR pressure limits.

I made a reamer for 6mm Valkyrie. I'm getting 3000fps easily with 65vmax and h322, that's a 16" barrel. My 21" barrel is getting 3280fps avg with 75vmaxes, but I pierce an occasional primer.

This is all thru my Tikka bolt gun. It was a 223 that I reamed the bolt face to accept the Valkyrie case

If you are getting 3280 fps from a 21" bbl and the valyrie parent case with 75gr projectiles I can understand piercing primers. I'd like to see the quickloads pressure projection for that load.

Using starline brass I'm seeing 5 loadings at least when I dropped the charge back. This was just to see how hard I can run it since the only basis I really have is velocity from the 224 version with similar weight bullets. Granted looking at a gas gun vs bolt, I'd expect the bolt gun to run slightly faster
