A friend has several Ponsness presses for sale: 800C, 800CVT and a 900 size-o-matic. The 900 actually has the hydraulic unit, etc. That said, none of them are up an running, so can't be tested. He wouldn't be against me setting any of them up, but in the end, they are used and he doesn't know much about them. He has at least 8 other reloaders (MECs annd Dillons) that he plays with (I bought a 650 20GA from him). He's always buying estates, etc., so stuff piles up. I could get any of these at a very reasonable price, but as much as I like to tinker, I'll soon have 6 of us shooting 12GA, so not much time for tinkering. I know it's not a huge savings and really want my teens to reload as a way to spend time together, but as we all know, I might end up doing more pulling then they will!
I'm impressed with the PW presses and have one real question, are the PW presses easier on your shoulder than MEC? The stroke surely seems it. I know there are auto-drives available, but am sticking with the KISS method, at least for now.
