Press kit for friend - Question

A friend of mine has taken up shooting., well he has tried over the years a few times but his wife always puts the kabosh on spending.) He is now to the point that he needs a good single stage press kit. He has no reloading tools to speak of but he has used my presses with me before. And while i have more presses than i can use with four arms he is determined to buy his own but can't decide on a kit. Having bought most of my stuff through the years i was wondering if there is a good kit for him that can be had at a reasonable price where he won't be replacing or upgrading all the time... Any thoughts???

For a beginner on a budget, I don't think you could go past the RCBS Partner Press kit. RCBS lists the kit online for $210 USD. That should keep his master happy.

Actually, that kit sells for about $150, but you should look at what's included. You may decide that the RockChucker Master Kit is a better buy.

I agree with the rockchucker but he will need additional peices Midway USA has this kit with everything he should need to get started.

The comments on the Rockchucker are valid. If he went the rockchucker he would probably never need another press and he would be spending wisely. It just comes down to what your friend wants and what his budget is. The partner press is a good option for a beginner and the $100 saved,-v- Rockchucker) could go towards a case trimmer and other gear.
