Things to look at with a chamber cast

So one of my little project guns is kinda weird when it comes to fireforming and some other stuff . It's been a fun little headache lol. Was reccomended to do a chamber cast to see exactly what the chamber looks like, a while back. Well I got some chamber casting alloy and did my very first chamber cast today, deal is I'm not 100% sure what I should be looking at Figure I should pull up the measurements for a average .223 camber and compare that to what this measures but anything else a guy could do with a chamber cast ?

The most valuable piece of information from a chamber cast to me is to determine the actual neck diameter and length of leade/freebore.

SAAMI chamber and ammo specs are free on the web and it isn't very difficult to learn to inspect ammo or chamber casts but you will need a few tools and instruments, which you will want to have in the long run anyway.

Imo, this is one of the best things to know about the chamber. I never trim to minimum trim length now. But I just use the Sinclair chamber length gauge...it's like 4 bucks.

Make it 3 and I've been using them since the early 90s.
