I don’t care for overly long cleaning rods, as posted they just add flex, nor do I care for coated rods that the coating flakes off and stays in the barrel. Polished stainless Proshot seems to cure both issues.
I have one Dewey coated rod where the coating started reacting with the "screw protector" vinyl cap at the threaded end. Some bits flaked off. I have had to get some coated rods even though I am a bare SS Proshot kind of guy. Some might have only been made one way. I think that the one that failed at the end was something like a .20 caliber 44".
